Florida Summer Camp - First Week & What a Great Week it Was!

The first week of our Florida Summer Camp here at Circle F Dude Ranch was filled with excitement and fun every moment.

I have so much to tell all of you so let’s get started.

The “Webit” has be the most fun new water toy that we all could have asked for, what a surprise for the campers when they arrived!

The campers learned how to climb to the top and jump immediately and you can hear the sounds  of excitement all the way to the barn.

Of course at the barn we are having our own type of fun.

The new horses are getting along fine with all the ones that have been here for years and the new signs for all their names that Deven the art teacher and Sam helped paint- add so much to the look of each stall. It is almost as though the horses know how much we love them.

This week I thought I would check out what some of my coworkers and your counselors have to say about what has been happening.

So first I went to Mia who is head of the Girl counselors she was so funny telling me all the stories from the first week. I thought I would share a few things she told me.

“Busy Busy. I'm currently preparing the ribbons for the banquet ceremony. The older kids played music and did all the inflatables in the water for Pioneer Cantina instead of reptile man. Kiki and I went to Islands of Adventure with the counselors and 160 kids. We were all EXHAUSTED by the end of the day. It rained a few times and we had hail! Last night the kids that stayed at camp had pizza for dinner. When the buses got back from Islands of Adventure everyone watched "Hook" in the roundup.

Of course all the girls love her and you can tell she is really enjoying her role at Circle F Dude Ranch Summer camp.

Next I thought I would catch up with Deven in the art room. Everyday more and more kids are signing up for arts and crafts and photography with all the new projects and stuff Paul had built at camp this year for the kids who really like the outdoors but love making art.

“ We have made paintings, memory books, and kites in arts and crafts. We are starting clay rattles tomorrow and finishing with the flowerpots. A few days ago we went outside to draw “Spirit” the new baby horse. The campers really seemed to enjoy this and some of the drawings turned out really well! The carnival was fun. I was in charge of cotton candy and the line never ended. The kids loved it and everyone seemed to have a really great time! “ Deven has been hanging the art work on the new cork wall in the art room. Check out this link to see all the Summer Camp Photos!

Well if I spoke to Mia I had to talk to Tom who is head of boys so here is what he had to say.

“ I stayed back from Islands of Adventure day. Instead of Indian Day, we had Beach day! It was great, there was sand castle building, swimming, water basketball, water Frisbee, and campers got to enjoy playing on the summit and new “Webit”. Riding staff is gearing up for the rodeo, wilderness is catching a lot of fish in the lake, dance/ tumble/ cheer is practicing stunts, dancing is rocking out to some lady gaga while doing some sweet moves, and soccer has been the big activity in the morning for general sports! Eli the soccer coach has been has had a good size turnout

Thanks Tom we really appreciate you filling us in on so much that has been happening.

Of course this weeks blog wouldn’t be complete without a word from Kiki so I caught up with him and here is what he told me.

“ We had the opening Campfire and let me tell you it was a touching ceremony and great way to start camp.

Reptile Man was a big hit for the little campers as the older kids had Pioneer Waterfront Time. Thanks Kiki I know how busy you are helping Paul watch over everything.

I promise next week I will get Paul to tell us how much fun he is having meeting all of you and getting out of the office this year instead of just being behind the scenes

I hope you don’t think I have rambled on but there is so much “funtastic”

  stuff to tell you all.

Remember to go to the website www.circlefduderanchcamp.com for up to the minute info and photos or to see if there is still room left in the secession you want to attend.

See ya Jessie!
