More Fun at Camp!

It’s been a fun week here at the ranch; first it was women’s weekend followed by Easter weekend. Check out the photos that were posted here on: facebook.  Both weekends were amazing!

The weather couldn’t have been better.

Women’sweekend at Circle F Dude Ranch camp was filled with fun foods like Taco salads and wraps. Friday night we had a wine and cheese party with lots of good music and talk.  The women loved the horses almost as much as the horses loved the women. Saturday was busy with rides, waterfront activities, dance class, massages and just plane old relaxing for those who seemed to need it. The new eco-friendly cooling systems in all the cabins were a surprise addition to this year’s event. Everyone loved how cool the cabins were at night.

Once the women left it was back to getting ready for summer camp.

The Blob is in place and ready for all you kids to climb the tower and jump while your friends are waiting below to be launched into the air. The Summit sits ready for all the excitement campers bring each session to the waterfront activity. Kris and Paul are busy checking on the councilors’ who will be in charge this summer. Each councilor has special skills and new experiences to share with all of you this summer.

Check out the fun that was had on the blob Easter weekend I posted a photo on facebook of a Dad jumping as his child was waiting below. The water was perfect so everyone went swimming and boating. The summit was filled with kids all weekend sliding and diving off the top. Lots of kids did paint ball and the weekend wouldn’t be complete without build-a-boat. The Rock-Wall with Chris Moon in charge is always a treat to first timers and the families that have come back for years can’t wait to climb the wall either. My favorite the horse rides were all full even Sunday morning! Of course all the families visited the baby horse Kiki and Spirit his older brother. How could everyone not have the very best time at Circle F Dude Ranch Camp? Perfect weather and great food but I don’t want to forget to tell you about the hayride Saturday night or the Karaoke guy who had all of us signing right along with him. It even seems the Easter bunny made a visit to Circle F Dude Ranch and hid a bunch of candy eggs and baskets for kids under twelve to find. The hunt for the treats was great fun. Well after helping Sherry un-tack and clean the horses I was happy that the weekend was such a success.

Guess what a new Karaoke machine arrived Friday just for all you campers to enjoy this summer.

That’s it for now guys and gals keep those questions coming. But especially don’t forget to check with Mom and Dad that you are registered for Summer Camp or have them call Kris in the office to set it up.

Another Week Gone By - Only 52 Days to Summer Camp!!!!!!

Once again I am here at Circle F Dude Ranch checking out what everyone has been up to as we get ready for Summer Camp which by the way is only 52 days and counting!

This week I thought I would tell you about a conversation I had with Kris the Assistant Camp Director, other day and how he fell in love with the outdoors and especially Circle F Dude Ranch. It seems when he first arrived in 2005 he wasn¹t as big on camping as he is today.
He wasn"t even sure if
he would come back the following year. Sounds hard to believe but as the year went by after camp was over he realized how much he was missing the feelings of being involved with young people and teaching them to trust themselves and the lessons learned at Circle F Dude Ranch. He went on to tell me "Summer Camp has a different meaning than just a fun place to spend your summer, to me it's an opportunity to impact a child's life, give them a sense of independence and a better foundation of who they really are. This is why I come back year after year and why Camp is important to me."  Wow those are some really great thoughts on Kris's part don't you think?

I pretty much feel the same way. Even though I am behind the scenes checking the horses and keeping things clean around the stables. I have learned so much about self-confidence and my ability to trust my judgment sharing those abilities with all of you makes me proud to be part of Circle F Dude Ranch summer camp.

The horses and Boo Who enjoy all of you brushing them and talking to them as during the year most people are just here on weekends. So summer is an exciting time for all of us. I can't wait for each session to begin meeting new girls and boys and renewing old friendships teaching them to trust and watch them grow strong from all the outdoor activities, Is kind'a like watching the new baby horse grow. Feeling good about leaving mom and dad at home while they learn new things and sharing experiences with the councilors and their camp mates. Helps them return to school in the fall with renewed sense of security as to who they are growing up to be.

By now I hope most of you are registered for one or more of the sessions, as we are all so eager to see old friends and make new ones.Oh I didn¹t want to forget it has been great hearing from all of you keep those questions coming and I will try and tell you what I know or ask for help in getting the answer so until next week.

That's it for now guys and gals

So long for now Jessie

Summer Camp Video

Only 60 days left until Summer Camp!

It’s hard to believe a whole week has gone by already. But here at Circle F Dude Ranch Camp every day is filled with excitement as the clock ticks down to the start of summer camp we are all busy making sure everything will be ready for all you campers. I’m sure you are as excited as we are that there are only 60 days left!!! The slide and the blob are in the water and ready. The basketball courts are spruced up, and the art room is unbelievable!
Don’t forget about our eco-friendly coolers they are amazing. Everyone who has been here for a group weekend has been thrilled with the difference they make.
This past weekend we were lucky enough to have a very special group called Camp Brave Heart this was their 10th year visiting. The group is for youngsters who have unfortunately lost a family member. During their visit they get to meet in groups and support each other’s feelings about what has happened. All of the cabin leaders are either counselors or social workers and all volunteers must go through training in order to qualify to work with the children. Here at Circle F Dude Ranch they are given the opportunity and encouraged to express themselves in a loving, nurturing environment.
I was lucky enough to be told about the group and have a better understanding from Sheila our office manager. By the way if you haven’t met her make sure you stop by and introduce yourself this summer.
She is real good at making sure everyone is happy!!
I got to speak with Kris Canchon everyday he sure is busy helping everyone fill out the forms to return to summer camp. Hope you all are getting Mom and Dad to call and take care of this as he told me we are filling up fast!
Kris Moon is ready as ever at rock wall I saw him as well. But I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t tell you all about the new horses that keep arriving and the baby that is growing like a weed. Also for those who are wondering our loveable “Boo Who” is doing fine he even let me hug on him the other day.

So aren’t you a bit curious about the comings and going’s here at Circle F Dude Ranch Summer camp well let me here from you any questions would be great.

Miss you all see ya soon!

Welcome to Our Summer Camp Blog!

The Circle F Dude Ranch Summer Camp blog is about to take off in a new direction.

Once a week every Wednesday I will try to keep you informed about the new events taking place as we ready the camp for all you cowgirls and cowboys eager to get your summer vacation underway.

Lots of new things have been done to ensure your summer experience to be the "coolest" ever. So hold on to your horses while I explain.

This year for the first time each cabin and all the places indoors where you will be playing and having fun have had a total makeover and an added feature--- a cooling system designed to be eco-friendly along with lowering the temperature to create a more comfortable atmosphere.

That means all of you will be the first to experience this environment. As the weeks go by I will fill you in with more details and photos about how it works.

So I¹m ready to answer any questions you might have. While all this work is being done, the day-to-day operations are in full force.

Kris (Kiki) is busy talking to your Moms and Dads making sure each of you are signed up and ready to attend just the right session. But he always finds time to visit the baby horse Kiki regularly. Kris also oversees family weekend planning and Women's weekend (which is
coming up real soon) it's just wonderful and unbelievable to hear just how many families attend so they can experience first hand just what you campers enjoy each summer. So don't forget to tell Mom and Dad about the other ways to spend a few days where they can play right along with you.

I'm equally sure you will all be excited to hear about Jarred who was a camper first then a counselor and now will be in charge of camp programming and assist Kris in organizing summer camp. Once a Circle F Dude Ranch camper you never want to leave. So write your comments here or on Face Book and I¹ll be sure and pass them along.

I have lots of stories and great information to share so I hope you will check out my blog each week.

Let me know what you are curious about and I promise to check it out and get back to you each week. I can¹t wait to hear from all of you. I have loved my experiences at Circle F Dude Ranch the last ten years so as I learn my way around this new responsibility I look forward to the opportunity of helping everyone stay informed about Circle F Dude Ranch summer camp.

See ya Jessie!
